Patricia B. Keeney, 89, of Hanover, PA, entered God’s eternal care Friday, February 14, 2025, at Sarah A. Todd Memorial Nursing Home, Carlisle, PA, with her loving family by her side.

Born January 20, 1936, in Baltimore, MD, she was the daughter of the late Donald and Dorothy A. (Sipling) Beck. Patricia was the loving wife of the late James C. Keeney with whom she shared 62 years of marriage until his passing on April 9, 2017.

A proud 1953 graduate of Eichelberger High School, Patricia was very active in the school’s band, where she developed a lifelong love for music. She worked as a teller at the former Dauphin Deposit Bank prior to being a homemaker for her family and caring for her children. She later worked at The Frame Shop for over 20 years before retirement. She was a devout member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church, Hanover, PA.

She was always present at her children’s and grandchildren’s activities, sporting events, and band competitions. She also enjoyed her card club, sewing, and painting. She was a devoted Hanover Nighthawk and Baltimore Orioles fan. Above all, she will be remembered for the warmth and kindness she shared with everyone around her. 

Patricia is survived by her children: Andrea L. Little of Hanover, PA, Melissa Keeney Smeltzer of York, PA, and Mitchell J. Keeney & wife Jill R. Keeney of Hanover, PA; four grandchildren: Taylor Smeltzer, Paige Smeltzer, Mackenzie Keeney, and Brooks Keeney; as well as her cherished nieces and nephews.

The family would like to extend thanks and gratitude to all the staff in the Lindsey Unit at Sarah A. Todd Memorial Nursing Home for the compassionate care provided to Patricia.

Funeral Services will be private and at the convenience of the family.  Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery, Hanover, PA.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to St. Matthew Lutheran Church, 30 West Chestnut Street, Hanover, PA 17331.
