Christopher Emil Denson, born March 5,1974, entered his heavenly eternal home on Valentine’s Day, 2/14/2025, after courageously fighting a rare cancer, nasopharyngeal carcinoma for 3 years.
Known simply as Chris by family and friends, he is survived by his loving dedicated wife and best friend, Lisa Denson; his beloved father, Harold Denson of Pickerington, OH and one brother, Matthew Denson of Atlanta, GA.
Chris was preceded in death by his mother, Patricia Denson, and his sister, Yolisiua Denson.
Chris grew up in East Point, GA and graduated from North Atlanta High School in 1992. Thereafter, he attended Georgia Southern University in Statesboro, GA where he graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting. Chris began his career as an Auditor for Blue Cross Blue Shield of SC in Columbia, SC. After about a year, he grew homesick and moved back to Atlanta, GA. Over the years, he worked for various organizations in Accounting positions.
While working in the Accounting field, Chris obtained a GA real estate license. For several years, he helped clients purchase and sell homes. However, his specialty was working with banks and their foreclosed properties. After beginning a real estate career, he soon created his own property management company where he collaborated with banks to prepare their homes for listings; from doing winterizations, Broker Price Opinions (BPO), lock changes to coordinating with contractors for electrical work and tree cutting and everything in between.
Chris used his Property Management experience to obtain a Sr. Property Manager role with Metro Storage where he worked for more than 10 years before he became sick.
Chris had a robust thirst for knowledge, loved traveling worldwide and loved sports. He knew a little bit about everything. Lisa thought of him as her personal “Google”. His interest and study in such a vast array of topics is one of the many reasons why he could easily connect with so many people. He was kind-hearted, generous, understanding and non-judgmental. During his cancer journey, Chris always won over hearts at every hospital stay. Lisa was often told that they could feel his kind spirit even when he was unable to speak. He had an infectious smile and a sense of humor that brightened people’s days. Although, he was suffering greatly, he often looked out for others; many of who were strangers.
Chris received Jesus in his heart and found much comfort in gospel songs such as Goodness of God by Cece Winans. He would often cry in expression of his gratitude for God using others to be a blessing to him and Lisa. He was extremely appreciative for every act of kindness and thoughtfulness towards him. His clinical notes stated that his heart was enlarged. They were correct. He had one of the biggest hearts of love…so much so that his college friends nicknamed him “Big Love” and it was quite fitting that God chose to take him back on Valentine’s Day.
Chris will be greatly missed by many friends and family including his father, brother, and in-laws who loved him very dearly as their very own blood sibling. Last but not least, he will be greatly missed by Lisa, his wife of 11 years and friend of 30 years.
