William J. McCole Obituary
William J. McCole, age 66, of Claymont, DE, passed away after battling cancer for a year on February 14, 2025. He is safely home with the Lord.
Bill was educated at Salesianum High School and worked for Brandywine Conservancy for 28 years.
Bill was an avid golfer and loved swimming. Anyone who knew Bill recognized what a sweet and humble man he was. He didn’t just talk his faith, he walked his faith. He was kindness personified. He will be missed by all and especially, his loving wife Tricia.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Hugh H. McCole and Dorothy Ann (MeGettigan) McCole. He is survived by his wife, Patricia “Tricia” McCole; siblings, Kathleen Zaplitny (Barry), Joseph McCole, Bruce McCole (Brenda) of Wilmington, DE and Dennis McCole (Eddy) of Claymont, DE. Bill is also survived by nieces, Betsy McCole, Lauren Zaplitny, Megan McCole and many more loving nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held Thursday, February 20, 2025 from 11am to 12:30pm at Gebhart Funeral Home, 3401 Philadelphia Pike, Claymont, DE 19703, where a memorial service will begin at 12:30pm. Burial will be private.
