Carol Jean Poffinbarger, age 85, passed away on Friday, February 14th, 2025, after a long battle with congestive heart failure. Carol was born in Princeton Illinois to Harold and Margaurite Perry on March 19th, 1939.

After graduating from Princeton High School in 1956, Carol married her high school sweetheart The Reverend Doctor John N. Poffinbarger.

Carol then attended Illinois Wesleyan College and later Augustana College where she graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Music Performance & Education. While Carol was always proud to be a “Pastor’s Wife” she also worked and excelled as a Teacher, Choir Director, Milwaukee Symphony Chorus Member, Hospital Admitting Coordinator, Medical Office Manager and worked in the Education Department at St. Norbert University in DePere, WI.

In her later years Carol enjoyed living in a four generation household where she especially enjoyed the company of her great grandchildren and their friends. Carol also enjoyed the household’s dogs and cats a great deal.

Carol is survived by her son, David Poffinbarger (Christy); her daughter, Lori Baldzikowski; her son, Mark (Becky); grandchildren, Kendra Cychosz (Scott), Charys Hess (Tim), Dominic Baldzikowski, Samuel, Baldzikowski, Emily Poffinbarger, and Jacob Poffinbarger; her great grandchildren, Xander Hess, Odyn Hess, Elyse Hess, Arlo Hess, Rylan Cychosz, and Rory Cychosz.

Carol was preceded in death by her mother and father Margaurite and Harold Perrry; her brother, Robert Perry; great granddaughter, Ariyanna Hess; and her son in law, Michael Baldzikowski.

The family would like to thank the staff at Aspirus Hospital in Stevens Point, the staff at the Portage County Nursing Home, the Aspirus Hospice Staff and especially The Rev. Jane Johnson, Mari Nummelin and Amanda Christ for all that they did for her in her final days and years.
