Charles "Tom" Raab Obituary
Charles Thomas “Tom” Raab, age 81, of Machesney Park and long- time resident of Mt. Carroll, died Friday, February 14, 2025 after a brief illness.
Tom was born September 12, 1943 in Freeport, IL, the son of Charles B. and Sarah R. (Townsend) Raab. He served in the US Navy from 1960-1964 and later married Mary Margaret Prowant on March 12, 1965 in Milledgeville. She preceded him in death on November 4, 2021. Tom was employed at Kelly Springfield for 34 years, retiring in 1999. He loved all sports and especially loved playing and watching golf.
He is survived by his son, Jeremy (Jeanette “Jan”) Raab of Machesney Park; one sister, Beverly Jeter of Weed, CA; one grandson, John Martin Griffin, III; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; five brothers, Earl, Philip, Gerald, Richard, and David Raab; and two sisters, Charlene Todd and Sally Martin.
