Alan Tatsue Aoki Obituary

Alan T. Aoki, 79, a longtime resident of the Gaston community, died Friday morning, February 14, 2025 at his home.


Private Cremation Rites were held at the Hoyt Crematory in Forest Grove.


ALAN TATSUE AOKI was born September 15, 1945, in Cleveland, Ohio, the son of the late Tatsue Aoki and Hazel T. (Nambu) Aoki. He was raised and received his education in Hawthorne, California, having been a graduate of the Leuzinger High School Class of 1963.


He was a Veteran of the Vietnam era, having joined the United State Air Force on December 3, 1965, in Los Angeles, California. Alan served for six years, until receiving his honorable discharge on December 7, 1971, at the Luke Air Force Base, Arizona, at the rank of Staff Sgt.


Alan was united in marriage to Misao Kanda on March 28, 1968, in Tokyo, Japan. They celebrated their 56th wedding anniversary this past March. Following their marriage they resided in Hawthorne, California; Gardena, California, until 1992, when they moved to the Beaverton community. In 1994, they moved to the Gaston community, where they have

resided since.


Alan had worked as a field service engineer in the electronics industry, at Credence Systems in Beaverton for many years, until he retired.


Among his special interests, Alan enjoyed fishing in lakes and off the coast of Southern California along with river fishing in Oregon. He also enjoyed hunting birds in Olex, varmint and ground squirrel in Christmas Valley, deer in the coast range around Trask mountain, and ducks on Sauvie Island.


He was preceded in death by his parents, Tatsue and Hazel Aoki and his brother, Donald Aoki.


Survivors include his wife, Misao Aoki, of Gaston, Oregon; his daughter and son-in-law, Sharon and Paul Keyser, of Carrboro, North Carolina and his brother and sister-in-law, Jackson and Judy Aoki, of Fountain Valley, California.


Also surviving is his nephew, Jeff Aoki and his niece and spouse, Jana and Mark Birkenbach
