Francis J. "Frank" Donohue, Jr. Obituary

Francis Joseph Donohue, Jr. “Frank”, born September 23, 1936, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Lynn, Massachusetts to the late Francis Donohue Sr. and Christine Donohue where he lived for the greater part of his life. Frank attended Sacred Heart School and graduated from St. Mary's High School, following which he served four years in the US Air Force. He is widowed by his wife Agnes (Hoda) Donohue of 30 years. He was also predeceased by his sisters; Helen (Donohue) Smith and Joan (Donohue) Gauvain

Frank was a proud member of the Ancient Order of Hibernians (AOH) and was honored to be named Irishman of the Year in 2013. He had an unwavering love for horses, which brought him immense joy throughout his life.

Frank leaves behind his daughter Kim LaBatte and her late husband Alan, daughter Kelly Donohue, and daughter-in-law Linda Urban. He also cherished his two grandsons, Justin and Brian LaBatte. Frank is survived by his beloved and longtime companion, May Porter, who was a constant source of love and support. He was deeply devoted to his family and extended family and friends.

Frank will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

His visitation will be held on Friday, February 21, 2025 from 10AM-12PM in the SOLIMINE FUNERAL HOME, 426 Broadway (Rt 129), Lynn, with a funeral service beginning at 12PM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited. The burial will be held privately at a future date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Hibernian Scholarship Fund 105 Federal Street, Lynn, MA 01905 in Frank’s memory.
