Raymond William Sipe, 96, of West Chester, passed away on Friday, February 14, 2025 at his home with his family by his side. He was the husband of Faith Reynolds Sipe, sharing 51 years of marriage.
Born in Carbondale, PA on October 28, 1928, he was the son of the late Frank and Emma (Burnett) Sipe. Ray graduated from Coatesville High School with the class of 1946, and entered the United States Army. Following his service in the Army, Ray went on to graduate from Penn State School of Architecture with the class of 1956. Ray was passionate about his career, and proud of his work with R.S. Architects in West Chester. His business brought him a great sense of joy, so much so, that he continued to work up until the time of his passing. He leaves behind a legacy of over 60 commercial, medical, and office buildings, warehouses and numerous custom homes in both Delaware and Pennsylvania. Ray was known as “Mr. Fix It”, and in his spare time, he enjoyed watching golf, Penn State Football, the Phillies and the Eagles.
Surviving in addition to his wife Faith are his daughters Jennifer Hassler, wife of Greg, of West Chester, and Susanne Mitchell, wife of Thomas, of Coatesville; a granddaughter Julia; and nieces and nephews Debbie, Linda, Cathy, Mary, Sandy, John and Brian, and their families. He was preceded in death by his sisters Ethel Stallard and Elizabeth Mattuson, and a niece Melissa.
Funeral services will be private.
