Esther Louise Miller, 92, went home to her Lord and Savior on Friday, February 14, 2025 at the Geisinger Medical Center in Danville.
She was born June 25, 1932 in Stonington, PA, the youngest of nine children, to Esther Mae (Duttinger) and Edward Yordy, and was raised on the family farm that is the current site of Northumberland Memorial Park. She learned to play the accordion at age 8, and often played it in church services as an adult. She married George D. Miller on May 28, 1954 and they were blessed with 61 years of marriage before George passed away in May 2015.
Esther graduated from Sunbury High School in 1950 and was employed at Sunbury Textile Mills for over 25 years. She was a faithful member of Emmanuel Bible Fellowship Church in Sunbury. She and George lived for many years at their home in Oaklyn, where they raised their family and enjoyed their retirement years. Esther had recently moved to Emmanuel Home in Northumberland where she enjoyed word puzzles and reading her bible.
Her daughter Debra O’Neill preceded her in death on June 17, 2024. Also preceding her in death were her 8 siblings, Ralph, Russell, Chester, Earl, Catherine (Reitz), Paul, William, and Kenneth Yordy.
Surviving are her son Chris Miller and daughter-in-law Doris of Lafayette, CO, son-in-law Richard O’Neill of Montandon, her 4 grandchildren, Erin Eads and husband Jason of Surprise, AZ, Benjamin O’Neill and fiance Amie Aumiller of Mifflinburg, Kelsie Miller and fiancé Richard Klassen of Longmont, CO, and Candice Day and husband Justin Day of Portland, OR, as well as her 3 great-grandchildren, Eli, Liam and Callum.
Services will be held at Emmanuel Bible Fellowship Church, 967 Mile Hill Road in Sunbury on Saturday, February 22, with a viewing from 10:00am to 11:00am, and funeral service beginning at 11:00am with Rev. Joshua Gibson officiating.
Burial will follow at Northumberland Memorial Park, Stonington.
