Joseph "Joe" L. Floyd, 76, of Greenwood, passed away on February 14, 2025. He was born on March 31, 1948, in Danville, KY, to the late Henry Floyd and Irene (Procter) Floyd.


Joe was a simple man who found joy in the little things. He enjoyed watching westerns and traveling with his late wife, Cheryl. He had a passion for collecting Carhartt coats, hats, and knives. Joe also loved attending car shows and spending time at the dealership, where he would drink coffee and visit with friends.


He dedicated 19 years of his career as a Machine Operator at Glass Container. He also worked in the warehouse at Aldi Foods before later joining Davidson Lumber.


Joe leaves behind his cherished siblings, Sylvia (Joe) Bird, Perry (Mary) Floyd, and Gary (Geneva) Floyd, along with numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 44 years, Cheryl Floyd.


Family and friends are invited to pay their respects at G. H. Herrmann Madison Avenue Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 5141 Madison Avenue, Indianapolis. Visitation will be held from 10:30 a.m. until the start of the funeral service at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, February 22, 2025. Joe will be laid to rest at New Crown Cemetery.


He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
