Danielle Burks Obituary

In a heartfelt remembrance of a life lived with joy and love, we honor the memory of Danielle Burks, lovingly known as Dani, who passed away peacefully in Tulsa, Oklahoma, on February 14, 2025, after a brief illness. Born on January 28, 1981, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Danielle's radiant smile and generous spirit were gifts to all who knew her.

Danielle's journey through life was marked by her dedication to her family, her love for animals, and her unwavering passion for the things she enjoyed. She is survived by a close-knit family that includes her wife Dr. Amber Easton and fur babies Maddie Lynn and Olivia Mae of the home, her mother Jennifer Burks of Tahlequah, Oklahoma, and her sister LaDonna Sharp-Leach of Springdale, Arkansas. Her extended family, a testament to the love she both gave and received, includes her in-laws Jim and Tancie Wilson of Lone Wolf, Oklahoma, sister-in-law Roxanne Mai Burks, nieces Ashley and Allison, and nephew Mason of Los Angeles, California. Danielle was a cherished member of a large family circle that extended to her sister-in-law April and her husband Jerry Rushing of Springfield, Louisiana, sister-in-law Amanda and her husband Ezra Gentle and nephews Judah and Jonah of Los Angeles, California, niece Mandy Arrington, aunt Tawna Baird of Muskogee, OK, uncle Aubrey and his wife Diane of Welling, Oklahoma, uncle Larry and his wife Patty of Bates City, Missouri, aunt Ruby Sheperd of Goshen, Arkansas, and aunt Marlene and her husband Gerald of Springdale, Arkansas. Her life was further enriched by numerous cousins and other loved ones who will miss her deeply.

She was preceded by her father, Charles, brother Michael Burks, sister Danetta Burks, her grandmother Mary June Vick and uncles Gerry Vick and Darrell Baird.

Danielle's professional life was characterized by her role as a stay-at-home dog mom and homemaker, a vocation she embraced with open arms and a full heart. Her compassion for her four-legged companions was a reflection of her overall approach to life—caring, attentive, and always infused with a sense of humor. She previously worked for AT&T in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

An ardent fan of OU softball, Danielle's enthusiasm for the sport was infectious. She could often be found cheering on her favorite team, whether from the stands or the comfort of her home. Her love for travel took her on many adventures, but it was the time spent with family that Danielle treasured the most. Those who were fortunate to join her on these journeys will forever hold onto the memories created.

Described by those who loved her as loving, funny, and thoughtful, Danielle had a knack for lifting spirits and spreading happiness. Her laughter was a melody that resonated in the hearts of her family and friends, and her thoughtful gestures showed a deep understanding of the needs and joys of those around her.

As we bid farewell to Danielle, we celebrate a life that was filled with love, laughter, and an unwavering commitment to family. Her legacy of kindness and joy will live on in the hearts of those she touched. Danielle's memory will be cherished, and her spirit will continue to inspire acts of love and friendship in the lives she influenced.
