Barbara J. Banks

June 16, 1937 – February 14, 2025

Barbara Jean Banks, age 87 of Howell, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 14, 2025, at the Willows of Howell Nursing Home under hospice care.

Born June 16, 1937, in Monroe. She was the daughter of the late Howard and Dorothy (Maynes) Barron. Barbara graduated from St. Mary Academy in 1955.

After high school, she met and married the love of her life: Vincent Banks on June 6, 1959, at St. Mary Catholic Church of Monroe. Barbara was a loving homemaker for her three children and husband. Vincent sadly passed away in 2021, after 61 wonderful years of marriage.

In her free time, she enjoyed baking with her grandkids and knitting things for loved ones. Barbara will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

To cherish her memory, Barbara leaves her loving children, Karen Banks and Daniel (Shauna) Banks; adoring grandchildren, Andrew, Marcus, and Rebecca Banks; and great-granddaughter, Sophia Banks.

In addition to her parents, Barbara was preceded in death by husband: Vincent; daughter: Diane L. Banks; brother: Elton Barron; and sister: Janice Brancheau.

Friends and family are invited to a visitation on Friday, February 21, 2025, at Rupp Funeral Home from 2 to 7 PM.  The funeral service will be at 7 PM.  Since her husband: Vincent passed away during the COVID Pandemic, there were no services held. During this funeral service, the Banks family would also like to honor his memory along with their mom. Officiating is Rev. Larry Detruf.  She will be laid to rest at Roselawn Memorial Park.

Memorial donations in honor of Barbara are suggested to the Michigan Humane Society.
