Linda Taylor Davis died on February 14, 2025, after a long battle with pancreatic cancer. She was born in Seneca, SC to the late Arthur Taylor and Bess Whitmire Taylor. She was preceded in death by her brother, Dan Taylor, and by the father of her children, Jack H. Davis.
Ms. Davis is survived by her loving children, Mary Lynn Farivari (Abraham) of Bethesda, MD and Jack M Davis (Eric) of Washington, DC. She lived in Washington, DC since 2021, moving from Huntsville AL, her home for 55 years, to pursue medical treatment and be near her children. Linda brought her southern warmth and graciousness with her and quickly made new friends in Washington, DC. Her kindness and dignity made an impression on everyone she met.
She graduated from Seneca High School and Clemson University. She later attended the University of Alabama in Huntsville. She was active in her children's activities, serving as a scout leader and PTA officer. She belonged to several bridge clubs in Huntsville and continued her life-long love of the game until a few weeks before her death. She loved the beach and spent many happy weeks and months there with dear friends.
Ms. Davis's service will be held at First United Methodist Church in Huntsville, AL on Friday, February 21. Visitation will be at 10 a.m. and the service at 11 a.m. with the Reverend Coy Hallmark officiating. A graveside service at Maple Hill Cemetery will be followed by a luncheon for her friends and family.
