Carrie Janette Selover, born on June 28, 1957, in Indian, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully on February 14, 2025, in Wilmington, North Carolina, at the age of 67.

Carrie was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, and sister who touched the lives of many with her warmth and kindness. She spent 14 years as a dedicated cook at Champions Assisted Living, where she brought comfort and joy to residents through her culinary talents. In the last two years of her career, she shared her love for cooking with the students of Pender County Schools before retiring.

Carrie's passions included cooking, baking, and solving puzzles, activities that she enjoyed sharing with her family and friends. Her kitchen was often filled with the delightful aromas of her latest creations, and her home was a place of welcome and warmth.

She is preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, William and Sarah Ward; maternal grandparents, Wilbur and Carrie Helman; and her nephew, B.J. Ward.

Carrie leaves behind a loving family who will cherish her memory: her beloved husband, Dean Selover; her daughter, Nichole Selover; her son, Anthony Selover; and her cherished granddaughter, Victoria Selover. She is also survived by her parents, William and Martha (Jane) Ward; her sister, Brenda Rethi; her brothers, Bill Ward and James Ward; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.

A memorial service to honor Carrie's life will be held on March 29th at Scott's Hill Baptist Church, located at 185 Scott's Hill Loop Road, Wilmington, NC. The service will begin at 2:00 pm, with visitation from 1:00 to 2:00 pm, both at the church. Light refreshments will be provided by the church, and guests are welcome to bring a dish if they wish.
