Darrell Clair Thiemann, 93, passed away February 14, 2025 at the Southlake Village Rehabilitation and Care Center in Lincoln, Nebraska.  He was born to Harold Theodore and Wilma Viola (McKamey) Thiemann on November 8, 1931 in Pawnee City, Nebraska. 

He lived most of his life in and around Pawnee City, NE. Darrell attended rural schools during his elementary school years. He called Pawnee City his home except during a few of his teen years when his family lived and farmed near Essex, IA. Darrell graduated from Pawnee City High School in 1949.

Darrell was united in marriage to Donna Darlene Shelabarger on August 15, 1954 at the United Methodist Church in Pawnee City, Nebraska. She passed away June 21, 2021 in Lincoln, Nebraska. To this union three children were born, Desiree Dee, Danny Clair and Dwight Craig.  

He served his country in the United States Navy during the Korean War on the USS  New Jersey.  

Darrell worked as a hardware store clerk, floor mechanic, remodeler and in appliance repair.  He was a member of the United Presbyterian Church, Pawnee City. 

In his spare time, Darrell enjoyed breaking and training horses, hunting, reading, camping and visiting with anyone who had a few minutes to talk.

He is survived by his son, Dwight and his wife Kelley of Firth, NE, son-in-law, Randy Fritch of Beatrice, NE, five grandchildren, Casey Haner, Jessi (Matt) Schwerin, Nicole Thiemann, Mitchell Thiemann and Preston (Rachel) Thiemann and 16 great-grandchildren.

Darrell was preceded in death by his wife Donna, parents Harold and Wilma Thiemann, daughter Dee Fritch, son Danny, grandson Nicholas Thiemann, parents-in-law Wid Shelabarger and Burchel Howell and sister-in-law and brother-in-law Jody and Glenn Schultz.

Services are pending with Wherry Mortuary, Pawnee City, Nebraska.
