Linda C. Semmeles of Danbury, CT, who formerly resided in Yorktown Heights, NY for 30 years died on February 14th, 2025. She was 70 years old.

Linda worked as a certified teachers assistant for Yorktown Central School District in Yorktown Heights, NY, before retiring in 2020 after 25 years of dedicated service. Along the way, she left an imprint on her colleagues and students.

Linda was born in 1954, in Manhattan, NY to Robert and Mary Barresi. She graduated from Eastchester High School in 1972. She earned a BA degree in Economics from Iona University in 1976. In 1979, she married John W. Semmeles at Immaculate Conception Church in Tuckahoe, NY.

Linda will be remembered for the love she had for her family and friends, her generosity, compassion and the selflessness she displayed when helping others. In addition to the love she had for family and friends, she loved cooking, baking, and shopping… especially a good deal. Linda bravely fought Breast Cancer in her 40’s and was in full remission up until 2021 when she was diagnosed with Metastatic Breast Cancer. Despite her struggles, she maintained an upbeat, positive, and hopeful attitude, and laughter was always had in her presence.

Linda always loved to capture the moment by taking videos and pictures, but was rarely in any herself. In all of the moments she beautifully captured, she ensured all around her were laughing and joyful, and if you knew her, you knew just how infectious her laugh was. She will be deeply missed by all who love her.

Linda is survived by her husband of 45 years John W. Semmeles, her son Christopher and wife Hannah and their three children Aiden, Cole, and Isla, her son Gregory and his wife Christine, and their two children Grayson and Colton, and her daughter Jaclyn. In addition, she is survived by her sister Rosemary and her husband Bob, their three sons Keith, Brian, and Michael, their three wives Eilleen, Laura, and Salena and four great-nephews and one great-niece.
