Michael Patrick Burns,
Saginaw Twp., Michigan
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Michael “Mike” Patrick Burns, a beloved husband, father, brother and friend. Mike peacefully passed away on Friday, February 14, 2025, surrounded by his family. Age 62 years. Son of the late Patrick and Barbara (Rambo) Burns, Mike was born January 8, 1963, in Saginaw, Michigan. He married Debra A. Heinlein, his loving wife of 37 years, on September 12, 1987. She survives him. Mike grew up with a passion for the outdoors, camping and the northern Michigan. He loved exploring the great outdoors, whether it was in a vehicle or riding quads with his best friends, Ron, Scott and Jason. He had memorized an endless number of dirt roads, two tracks and trails and could never get lost. Mike and Debbie spent countless weekends camping with friends in Prudenville, Michigan, where he and Debbie kept their trailer year-round, pulling off the site for fun exploring up north, even taking it to Gettysburg, Pa. and Baraga, Michigan. After graduating from Eisenhower High School, he went on to serve as a Saginaw Township Firefighter at Station 2 for 38 years. Mike loved driving and made a career of it by driving for Reliable Courier until his passing.
Surviving to cherish his memory are his wife, Debbie and two children, Patrick Michael Burns and Courtney Nicole Burns; a sister, Maureen Burns; a stepsister, Lynette and Bobbie Eastman; his aunt, Mary Wenzel; two brothers-in-law, Ed and Mary Heinlein, Greg and Janet Heinlein; several cousins, nieces and nephews. Mike was preceded in death by his parents, Patrick Burns and Barbara Burns Kendall; his sister, Kathleen Burns; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Delbert and Janet Heinlein.
