Douglass C. Burke, 67, of the Town of Northampton, NY passed away suddenly on Friday, February 14, 2025 at his home.

A lifelong area resident, he was born in Amsterdam, NY on July 10, 1957 the son of the late Charles and Ruth Douglass Burke. He attended local schools and was a Master Mechanic and was employed at Trieber Nissan in Johnstown, NY.

Douglass loved dogs especially border collies, and spent a lot of time hiking, and canoeing with his special hiking club. He was a skilled mechanic and a fan of the Avett Brothers.  He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Survivors include his two canine companions, Besse and Avie; two sisters, Karen Burke and Barbara Kruger and her husband Ken; two nephews, Steven Kruger and his wife Niki and Nicholas Kruger and his wife Shannon; great nephews, Xander and Tristan Kruger; one great niece Amelia Kruger; three uncles, James, Richard and David (Donna) Douglass; cousins and friends.

It was his request there are no formal funeral services.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to the New England Border Collie Rescue (NEBCR), 14 Winifred Road, Framingham, MA 01701or the Ayres Memorial Animal Shelter, 133 Hilltop Road, Sprakers, NY 12166.
