It is with great sadness the family of Brenda (Jones) Winfield announces her passing on Friday, February 14, 2025 at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh, surrounded by her loving family. She was 70 years old.
Born on March 17, 1954 in Huntingdon, a daughter of the late Glenn and Betty (Morningstar) Jones.
On June 15, 1991, she was united in marriage to Lewis H. Winfield in Robertsdale. Mr. Winfield survives at their home.
Along with her husband she is survived by two loving sons, Garrett L. Winfield and Jason G. Winfield both of Wood. Also surviving was an added joy to her life, her grandson, Eian Winfield.
In addition to her husband and sons and grandson, she is survived by sister Lucille Morningstar, James Creek, Brother Donald G. Jones, husband of Linda, sister Barbara, wife of Donald Herdman, sister-in-law, Veronica Jones, all of Broad Top, as well as numerous nieces and nephews whom loved her dearly.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Glenn D. Jones, infant twin sisters, Beth and Betsy, brother-in-law, Alan Morningstar, sister-in-law, Patricia Corbin, brothers-in-law, Gerald, Merle, and Jerry.
She was a 1972 graduate of Tussey Mountain High School and a 1976 graduate of Shippensburg University with a bachelors degree in teaching, in which she used for 39 years in the Tussey Mountain School District.
During her lifetime she was a member of the Trough Creek Grange #444 and Pomona Grange. She played piano for the Newburg Methodist Church, Robertsdale Church of God, and most recently at the Reality Church of God, where she was currently attending. She was a favorite choice for many over the years for her to play and sing at weddings. She also dearly loved to go watch her grandson play football.
She enjoyed her coffee and computer time, she also occasionally went to BINGO, and loved spending time with her family.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, February 19, 2025 at 11 AM with Pastor Jeff Musser officiating at the Curtis A. Heath Funeral Home Inc.
Friends will be received at the funeral home on Tuesday February 18, 2025 from 6-8 PM and again on Wednesday one hour prior to the start of the funeral service.
Interment will take place in the I.O.O.F Cemetery, Broad Top City, PA.
