It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Mark Wayne Gary, a loving husband, devoted father who left us on February 14, 2025 at the age of 68. Mark’s kindness, warmth, and unwavering love for God and his family will be forever remembered.
Born on August 21, 1956 in Houston, Texas. Mark had a passion for life that was evident in everything he did. He was a born again Christian, and had a strong relationship with God. He worked as an instrument designer in oil and gas. As well as THE family mechanic and handyman. He found joy in the simple things—tinkering with cars, listening to the music and, most of all, spending time with the people he loved. His laughter was infectious and his smile made every moment brighter. He was a character always ready to make you laugh till your sides were sore, and always had an opinion on goats.
Mark’s greatest pride and joy were his family. He met his wife Nancy in high school and they were married November 8th 1975. His love for Nancy was steadfast and strong, a partnership built on love, respect, and countless beautiful memories. He was a devoted father who always put his children first, offering guidance, support, and unconditional love. Whether teaching them life lessons, cheering them on, or simply sharing quiet moments, he made sure they knew they were deeply cherished.
Mark’s passion for music was a reflection of his soul—whether playing his favorite tunes, attending concerts, or simply singing along in the car, music was his lifelong companion. His love for cars was just as strong; he could often be found under the hood, talking about engines, or taking checking out the nearest car show.
Mark is survived by his wife Nancy Carol (Holmes) Gary, children Toni Goss and husband Ryan, Katie Kelley and husband Brad, Travis Gary and wife Amanda, Grandchildren Ashlyn and Rhett Kelley, Lainey and Declan Gary, sisters Nancy Richard, Barbara Crouch and Brother Richard Gary. Though he may no longer be with us in body, his spirit will live on in the music he loved, the stories he told, and the love he gave so freely.
Mark was preceded in death by his Parents Elvin Mervin and Jo Ann (Keating) Gary.
A celebration of Mark’s life will be held on Friday, February 21st at 2pm at Rosewood Funeral Home in Humble. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Camp Janus.
