Jeremiah Isiah Landreth, age 13, passed away peacefully, surrounded by loved ones on February 14, 2025 in Wilmington, NC. Jeremiah was born premature at 24 weeks, on June 28, 2011 in Lumberton, NC. Jeremiah battled and won every medical obstacle for 13 ½ year. He never gave up, nor did his family or medical doctors. Jeremiah’s team was God, his loving, fighting parents, Dr. Susannah Aylesworth, Dr. Elizabeth Dellon, Dr. Carolyn Zook-Lewis, Dr. Scott Elton, Dr. Joshua Alexander, and Dr. Francisco Sylvester. He fought his illnesses and his team fought for him.

Jeremiah’s will and strength was God given. He found ways to communicate and was always devoted to his family. Jeremiah loved the human touch and laughing at himself and with others. His family members were the lucky ones.

God gave us all an earthly angel, who left behind the most important gift in life, which is love. Love is greater than any other worldly possession or title. It is simply LOVE.

Jeremiah is survived by his parents, Wendy and Steve Smith; his siblings, Peter Schell, Victoria (Matt) Palmer, Mark Landreth, Kemia Landreth, Gabriela Landreth, Eli Landreth and Steven (Tracy) Smith; his grandmothers, Kathy Davis and Billie Jones; also survived by many cherished aunts, uncles, cousins and special friends. He is preceded in death by his father, Mark Landreth, Sr.; grandfather, Charles Davis and great grandmother, Joyce Barefoot.

A memorial service will be held at Wilmington Funeral and Cremation, 1535 S. 41st Street, Wilmington, NC 28403 on Saturday, February 22, 2025 at 2:00 pm, officiated by Pastor Jonathan Rochelle. A reception will be held at a private residence at 429 Island Creek Road, Rocky Point, NC 28457 at 3:30 pm, following the service.
