TROY – Patricia T. Walsh entered into eternal life on Friday, February 14, 2025 at age 89.

Patricia was born in Binghamton, NY on August 27, 1935. Her formative years were spent in Binghamton where she received her primary and high school education. She left Binghamton to attend the College of St. Rose in pursuit of a degree in nursing. Patricia enjoyed a 33 year career as a registered nurse at St. Mary’s Hospital in Troy where she served as a shift supervisor. She retired from St. Mary’s in 1994 but continued to care for others as a nurse in home health care.

Patricia, a devout Catholic, was an ardent supporter and long-time parishioner of Our Lady of Victory Church in Troy. She enjoyed being a pianist and violinist with the Music Company Orchestra (MCO) of the Capital District.

Patricia was married Lawrence J. Metzger who passed away in 1997. She later met William J. “Bill” Walsh and they were married in 2004 at Our Lady of Victory Church in Troy by the Reverend Randall Patterson. During their twenty years of marriage they shared many happy times together and enjoyed wintering in Florida and traveling, via cruise ships, to destinations around the world.

Patricia was proud of her Irish heritage, appreciated her nursing career, loved her home and family and lived her Christian faith. She will be missed by all those whose hearts she touched.

She is survived by her loving husband William J. “Bill” Walsh; her stepchildren, Maryann Cassell (late Dr. Robert), Michael Walsh, Daniel Walsh (Cindy Watkins) and Arthur Walsh (Sherry). Patricia was pre-deceased by her parents, James J. and Anne Mae (Coy) Trustin; stepchildren, Kathleen Ozment, William Walsh, and Kevin Walsh.

She was “Grandma Pat” to 11 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, February 24, 2025 at 11 AM in Our Lady of Victory Church, 55 North Lake Avenue, Troy, NY. The Rite of Committal and interment will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Troy. There will be no public visiting hours held prior to the Mass.
