Gilford “Randy” Mayhorn, of Cranston Road, Morehead, KY, formerly of Freeburn, KY, entered the gates of heaven on February 14, 2025, after a long difficult battle with cancer.
Randy was born October 23, 1955, a son of the late Gilford Mayhorn, and grandson of the late Elizabeth Mayhorn who played a huge role in raising him. He was also preceded in death by his brother TC Dotson, and granddaughter, Katie.
Born in Delaware and raised in Pike County, KY, Randy spent his time working for Old Ben Coal Company until he became disabled.
His devoted wife of 50 years, Connie Bledsoe Mayhorn, survives him. Randy is also survived by daughter Randa (Brad) Messer of Morehead, KY, and son Kevin (Heather) Mayhorn of Winchester, KY. Randy was the proud Papaw of Brianna (Tyler), Dylan, Jacob, Nicholas, and Jaxon, as well as great grandsons, Caden and Owen. He is also survived by sister Judy (“Cloud”) Stites of Wilmington, DE; brothers Steve (Susie) Mayhorn of Morehead, KY; and Ronnie (Lois) Mayhorn of Wilmington, DE.
When his health allowed, Randy and Connie enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson. He also enjoyed spending time hunting and fishing with his buddies and sitting on the porch with his dog Pickle and the late Tucker while drinking his coffee. But above all he loved God and his family. He was a member of Johnson First Church of God.
Per his request, cremation has taken place and no services or visitation will be held.
Rest in Peace, Randy, we have it from here.
