Nedra Lee Johnson, 73, beloved wife of 53 years to William David Johnson, passed away Friday, February 14, 2025, in Georgetown, Kentucky. Nedra was the daughter of Fred. E Rudy and Ruth Campbell Rudy was born on July 23, 1951, in Gary, Indiana. Nedra was a dedicated worker; she worked for Mobile Chemical as a shipping clerk and worked at Murray State University in the Winslow Cafeteria. In Nedra’s free time, she enjoyed playing cards, word finds and collecting cookbooks. Nedra could be described as a loving, compassionate, and caring person with a huge heart. She could light up any room she walked into.

Besides her husband, she will be lovingly remembered by her son, David “Bubba” Johnson of Sadieville, and her daughter, Kim Johnson of Sadieville, her five sister-in-laws,Carol Nickens of Evansville, IN, Brenda James of Percy, IL, Betty Hunter of S. Fulton, TN, Elwanda Lynch of Sacramento, KY, and Mary Williams of Evansville, IN, one brother-in-law of Steve Johnson of Wingo, KY, And her cousin, Teri (Laurie) Rudy, of Munster, Indiana.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her stepmother, Alice J. Rudy, her aunt, Geraldine Campbell, one brother-in-law, Jesse James and her two sister-in-laws, Patsy Cline and Barbara Fletcher. 

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 18, 2025, at Tucker, Yocum & Wilson Funeral Home from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, February 19, 2025, at 11:00 AM, with Adam Wilson officiating. Burial will follow at Crestlawn Memorial Gardens, with Timmy Murphy, Phil Walter, Richard Reel, Doug Turner and Brandon Dotson serving as pallbearer.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks if planter flowers can be gifted instead of live flowers. The family would like to be able to plant flowers in memory of Nedra.

Friends and family are encouraged to leave memories and messages of condolences on Nedra’s tribute wall.
