With great sadness, we announce the passing of our Beloved Mother, Edna Leah (Tootie) Rowland Gordon, was born August 27, 1934, in Middlesboro, KY, passed away Friday, February 14, 2025 at Middlesboro Nursing and Rehabilitation Facility with her family by her side. Tootie, Mimm, Mammaw was a very special person. She was a dedicated member of Trinity  Baptist Church as long as she was able to attend. Worked many years at Midnight Market; and had many special memories from those days; talked about them all the time. She just loved to serve people. She married Clayton Gordon on May 9, 1952 and was married 54 years.

She was saved after she and Clayton were married. Joined and was baptized in Bennett’s Fork Missionary Baptist Church.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Basil and Flossie Rowland; husband, Clayton Gordon; daughter, Janice Johnson; granddaughter, Monica Seals; and Aunt Helena and Uncle Jessie Atkins.

She is survived by children: Sandra Moyers, Middlesboro, KY; Gary (Becky) Gordon, New Tazewell, TN; son-in-law, Sid Johnson; special grandson, Freddy (Julie) Dixon; granddaughter, Summer (Justin) Hughett; granddaughter, Elizabeth (Wes) Smallwood; granddaughter Alison (Andrew) Sabo; step grandson, Derek(Mandy) Drummonds; great grandchildren: Hayden, Aubree, Tucker Hughett, Jade Smallwood, Colton Smallwood, Kassidy (Cody) Hoskins; Eli Smallwood; Paxton and Tenley Drummonds; great great grandchildren: Lydia, Serenity, Oliver; Emma, Zachary, and Violet; special friend and roommate, Stella Robbins and special friends, Eilene Rains and Wanda Williams.

Tootie loved going to church, her grandchildren, yard sale looking and shopping.

Special thanks to caregivers at Middlesboro Nursing Facility and Meagan with Hospice Services.

The family will receive friends 5 – 7 p.m., Monday, February 17, 2025 at Trinity Baptist Church and the Funeral service following at 7 p.m. with Rev. Keith Medley and Tracy Neely officiating. Graveside service will be at 11 a.m., Wednesday, February 19, 2025 at the Mausoleum of Green Hills Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Billy Bayless, Freddy Dixon, Gary Gordon, Hayden Hughett, Justin Hughett, Junior Maiden, Charlie Redmond and Tommy Rouse. Honorary Pallbearers will be Bill Bayless, Jimmy Gordon, Bill Bothof and Tony Walker.
