Bernard “Bernie” Ambrose Rudolph, 90, was welcomed home by the Lord on Friday, February 14, 2025. He died at Woodland Good Samaritan Village in Brainerd, surrounded by his family.

Bernie was born July 19th, 1934 in Bowlus, MN, one of 12 children born to Peter and Rose (Schlichting) Rudolph. He married the love of his life, MaryAnn Kruchten, on October 15th, 1960. The couple was blessed to bring three children into the world.

Bernie enjoyed country living, especially his extraordinary gardens. He was hardworking and enjoyed welding and creating things. He had a love for children, animals, and most of all his family. Bernie shared a smile or a laugh with everyone he met, and his grin will never be forgotten. He worked as a mechanic at Barrett Ag Services, Inc. and retired at the age of 62.

He will be missed by his daughter, Bernice (Rudolph) Woitalla; son, Charles (Christine) Rudolph; grandchildren, Justin (Kayla) Rudolph, Danielle (Ryan) Skwira, Corey (Samantha) Rudolph, Kelsey (Ryan) Markham, Luke (Chris Held) Woitalla, Peter Woitalla, and Matthew (Cassie) Woitalla; great-grandchildren, Calee, Liam, Raelee, Chase, Kiptin, Madalyn, Grayson, Charlee, Fletcher, Everett, and Ivan; sister, Mary Kruchten; and many extended family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife, MaryAnn; son, Ambrose, son-in-law, Tom Woitalla; parents; and siblings, Josephine, Johanna, John, Helen, Leonard, Benny, Clarence, Sylvester, Rosemary, and Virginia.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, February 22, 2025, at St. Mathias Catholic Church in Fort Ripley. Family and friends are welcome to gather Friday evening from 5-8 p.m. at Nelson–Doran Funeral Home in Brainerd and again one hour before Mass at the church on Saturday. The interment will take place at St. Mathias Parish Cemetery.
