Geneva Dick Obituary

Geneva J. Dick, age 99, passed away on Valentine's Day, Friday, February 14, 2025, at her home in Spencer. She was born in Valdosta, Georgia on December 4, 1925, the daughter of Arthur and Maude (Barnett) Cherry.


Geneva worked at Quaker Oats Company in Cincinnati, Ohio, Hanover College in Hanover, Indiana, and the Ohio Knife Company in Cincinnati, Ohio.


Geneva enjoyed going to church at Spencer First Christian Church, family gatherings, writing poetry, playing euchre with her friends at church, water aerobics at the Y, Red Hats and eating lunch at Chambers Restaurant every week with her two grandsons and friends.


Geneva married William Dick in 1946 and they were married for 66 years. She is survived by a daughter, Barbara Chambers of Coal City, Indiana; a son, William Dick of Ft. Wayne, Indiana; nine grandchildren; twenty-four great-grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.


She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and a brother, Arthur Cherry.


Funeral service will be held at West & Parrish & Pedigo Funeral Home in Spencer at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, February 18, 2025, with Dr. Allen Lewis officiating. Burial will follow at Chambersville Cemetery in Spencer.


Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday from 11 AM until the time of service.
