Vernon R. “Buz” Goff, 75, of Chillicothe, passed at 5:20 p.m. Friday, February 14, 2025 in Select Specialty Hospital, Columbus following an extended illness.

     He was born March 2, 1949, in Hazard, Kentucky, to the late Vernon R. and Fay Collins Goff.  On November 23, 2012, he married the former Cathy S. Jones who survives.

     Also surviving are a son, Dean Goff, of Chillicothe; a daughter, Shannon (Brad) Graves, of Chillicothe; grandchildren, Caitlin (Josh) Knoll, Ronnie Williams, Kyle Williams, Mindy (Jake) Spille; great grandchildren, Cooper, Carson, Grace, Elijah, Anson and Oakley; a sister, Patricia Ferlazzo, of Nokomis, FL; and nieces and nephews, Steve Garrett, Debbie Detlefson and Damon Ferlazzo.  In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a son, Matthew Dana Goff; his former wife, Dena Burlile; and a sister, Carolyn Garrett. 

     Vernon retired from Kenworth Truck Company where he had worked as an Electrician for 40 years.  Buz was a member of the Boozefighters M.C. and the Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge 1626. 

     Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, February 22, 2025 in the WARE FUNERAL HOME with Chaplain Eric “Big E” Miller and Pastor Ron Anderson officiating.  Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery.  Friends may call at the WARE FUNERAL HOME from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. prior to the funeral service on Saturday.
