Albert Porcaro, 83, of Green Pond, NJ, passed away gently on February 14, 2025, with his family at his side.
Albert was raised in Little Ferry, NJ. Immediately following his graduation from Ridgefield Park High School, he joined the U.S. Navy, where he served as a Radarman on the USS Henley. Thereafter, he earned a business degree from Fairleigh Dickinson University. He spent most of his career working in human resources, retiring in 1999 after 20 years as an HR executive at Mercedes Benz. He gave back to his community, serving on the Midland Park Board of Education, as a Trustee of the ARC of Bergen/Passaic, and as a director for the Green Pond Corporation (president 2003-2006).
Albert had a full and joyful life. He was an avid golfer and tennis player for many years, enjoyed bird and small game hunting, and relished many summers boating and fishing on Green Pond. Above all, he loved his family. He met the love of his life, Cynthia Charlton, in 1971, and they shared 52 beautiful years of marriage together - raising their family in Midland Park, and eventually retiring in their summer haven, Green Pond.
With his passing, Albert has been reunited with family who preceded him in death - his parents, Anthony and Carmela Porcaro, his brother, Donald, and his beloved nephew, Darren. He will be deeply missed by his wife Cynthia, his cherished son Michael, his daughter Kimberly (Maureen Donatien) and their children Julia, Benjamin, Matthew and Gregory Donatien.
Visitation will take place on Wednesday, February 19, 2025 from 3-5:30PM. Following visitation, there will be a memorial service at 5:30PM, immediately after which all are invited to gather for a repast at Stefano’s restaurant in Riverdale. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the ARC of Bergen & Passaic (www.arcbp.com).
