Harvey Wade Oakes, 82, of Leasburg died Friday February, 14, 2025. Born in Callands Virginia, Mr. Oakes was the son of the late Cecil Oakes and Beulah Oakes. He is preceded in death by five brothers, Cecil Oakes, Richard Oakes, Bill Oakes, Ed Oakes and Paul Oakes and one sister Mary Ann Thaxton. Mr. Oakes delivered fuel for Little Huff's and later retired after working for 43 years. He enjoyed working on and fixing up old cars and trucks, watching race car racing, and loved playing cards with all of his buddies. Harvey also attended Leasburg United Methodist Church.
Mr. Oakes is survived by his two sons, Anthony Wade Oakes of Anderson NC, and Aubrey Lee Oakes of Leasburg NC, one brother Robert Oakes, one sister Frances Wrenn and three grandchildren, Kylie Elizabeth Oakes, Lucas Wade Oakes and Wesley Cole Oakes.

Memorial Services will be held at 2PM Monday, February, 17, 2025 at Leasburg United Methodist Church by the Rev. Ray Pearce. The family will receive friends from 1PM-2PM prior to the service.
