Curtis Keith Dickinson, known lovingly as Curt to his friends and family, passed away peacefully on February 15, 2025, in Paris, Texas, at the age of 58. Born on August 2, 1966, in Dallas, Texas, to Keith and Marie (Hudgeons) Dickinson, Curt was a beacon of kindness and selflessness whose faith-filled life was a testament to his unwavering dedication to his family, his community, and his Lord.
Curt's devotion to service was evident in his long-lasting commitment as an active member of the Faught Volunteer Fire Department, where he served honorably for 32 years. His selflessness extended to his time at the City of Paris EMS Reserves, serving as President for 15 years, a role he proudly held. Curt was also the owner and operator of Curteous Landscaping, which allowed him to indulge in his love for the outdoors.
Curt's legacy is lovingly remembered by his mother, Marie Dickinson, alongside his sister Kathy Lamm, and his brother Kelly Dickinson. He will also be cherished in the memories of his nieces Elizabeth Lee and her husband, Dakota, Meredith Lamm, and his step-daughter Dayna Heise, and his Brothers and Sisters in the Faught Volunteer Fire Department – all of whom Curt treasured deeply as family.
At Dickinson Farm, Curt's land was more than just acres of soil; it was where he tended to his cattle, bestowing upon each a name, treating them with the same respect and kindness he showed to every living soul. The farm was one of the many places where Curt's big-heartedness was on full display, his dedication to his family's legacy evident in every facet of his work. Keeping with his landscaping and outdoor passions, in the 90’s, Curt was employed by Pine Ridge Golf Course as the Director of Golf Course and Grounds Maintenance responsible for keeping the golf course in pristine condition.
His love for '80s hair bands was only matched by his love for a good bonfire. Not just any fire, but a roaring inferno that served as a hub for friends and family to gather, share laughter, and create memories – these were the moments Curt savored. His larger-than-life personality lit up gatherings just as brightly as the fires he stoked.
The absence of Curt's boundless enthusiasm and constant readiness to lend a hand will leave a profound void in the Faught Community and Lamar County at large. The impact of his deeds and the measure of his character will continue to resonate with every life he touched. His radiant smile, contagious laughter, and the clear notes of his favorite power ballads will echo in the minds of family and friends.
Curt's story is not just one of individual accomplishment but one of community. His commitment to serving others was unshakeable, and his actions inspired many to follow in his footsteps of volunteerism and public service. His belief in God was the compass by which he navigated life, leading him through a lifetime of love, laughter, and fellowship.
In remembering Curt, we find a message of enduring love, service, and joy – one that he lived out each day with every person he met. While we mourn the loss of such a remarkable soul, we also celebrate a life beautifully lived. Curtis Keith Dickinson was, and forever will be, a beloved son, father, brother, uncle, and friend whose legacy will continue to inspire and guide us. His was a life that demonstrated how one person's warmth, compassion, and enthusiasm can genuinely light up the world.
