On February 14, 2025, we lost an extraordinary man - Harold Norman Traub, a father, Grandfather, Great-grandfather, husband, entrepreneur, small business owner and WWII Navy Veteran. He was born on December 5, 1927. He was a long-time congregant of Temple Emanuel in Lawrence then Andover, Mass.


He graduated from Methuen High school, then attended Worcester Academy in Worcester, MA for a post-graduate year. Shortly thereafter, he enrolled in the Navy for 2 years and left with an honorable discharge. He married Gladys Labell in 1949, but she was killed in an automobile accident in 1968. He subsequently married Harriet Muriel (Brilliant) Taymor and was married for 55 years. With Harriet, he raised 5 children.


He successfully established Arrow Floor Covering in Lawrence MA and expanded into a second store in Andover.


Harold was predeceased by Gladys (Labell) Traub. He is survived by his wife Harriet Traub; his loving children Kenneth (Linda) Traub, Scott (Sandra) Traub, Stephen (Linda) Traub, Sharyn Taymor (Lawrence Schwartz), Heydon (Jodi) Traub; his grandchildren, Galia, Alana, Gabrielle (Thomas), Benjamin (Jana), Julian (Amanda), Erica, Amanda (Jake), and Michaela (Harrison); and Great-grandson Mateo.


Services at Temple Emanuel 7 Haggetts Pond Road, Andover on Monday February 17 at 1:00 PM. Interment at Temple Emanuel Cemetery, Lawrence. Condolence calls may be made at the home of Kenneth & Linda Traub on Monday from 3-8 PM and Tuesday from 5-8 PM. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to the Gladys Traub Scholarship Fund c/o Temple Emanuel, Andover www.templeemanuel.net, the Alzheimer’s Association www.alz.org or to a charity of one’s choice.
