Phyllis Collura (née Costello)
Born: March 24, 1958
Passed away: February 14, 2025, after a courageous five-year battle with colon cancer
Phyllis Collura, the beloved wife, mother, and Baba, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family at the age of 66. She was the youngest of three sisters, cherished by her siblings Patricia and Laurie. Born and raised in Pearl River, New York, Phyllis spent over 30 years of her life in the town she loved, building a home with her husband Rob and their three daughters, Georgia, Julia, and Erica.
Phyllis met her husband, Rob Collura, at the age of 30. They quickly became inseparable, beginning their journey together in June of 1987 and becoming engaged within three months. Their love story lasted nearly 37 years, filled with love, laughter, and unwavering support. Phyllis deeply valued the time spent with her family, especially her grandchildren, Wesson and Archer, who brought her immeasurable joy.
A woman of many passions, Phyllis was known for her humor, easy-going nature, and artistic talents. She created beautiful mosaic mannequins and other quirky works of art, and every year she hand-crafted personalized Christmas gifts for her coworkers at the Hilton, a testament to her thoughtfulness and creativity. Whether reading, gardening, estate saleing, or working, Phyllis found happiness in life’s simple pleasures, but above all, she loved being at home surrounded by those she loved.
She is survived by her husband, Rob; daughters Georgia (and her boyfriend Mike), Julia (and her husband Shane), and Erica (and her boyfriend Enrico); her sisters Patricia and Laurie; her grandchildren, Wesson and Archer; and many dear cousins, friends, and co-workers. She was pre-deceased by her parents, William and Lois Costello.
Phyllis will be remembered for her incredible work ethic, her artistic spirit, and the boundless love she gave to her family. She was a wonderful wife, mother, and Baba, and she leaves behind a legacy of laughter, warmth, and kindness that will continue to inspire all who knew her.
