Margaret Brackett of Calgary, AB, passed away on Friday, February 14, 2025, at the age of 90 years.

She was predeceased by her husband Vern, sister Eileen Josey, brothers, Richard Malone and George Malone; parents, Tom and Anna Malone; and her aunt, Sister Mary Riordan F.C.J. of Calgary.

She is survived by her loving children, Mark Brackett, Colleen (Wade) Acheson, and Patrick (Sandra) Brackett; sisters-in-law, Ollie Malone of Kelowna, BC, and Jean Malone of St. Albert, AB; grandchildren, Nicole (Eric) Hudson, Mitchell (Erin) Acheson, and Coleton and Branden Cozac, of Calgary; great-grandchildren Harper and Hadly Hudson; and numerous nieces and nephews, who are all much loved.

Born and raised in Edmonton, Marg attended St. Alphonsus, then St. Mary’s High School. Throughout her childhood she was actively involved in various classes such as tap, ballet, swimming, gym, school concerts, and children’s choirs. While attending high school, Marg conducted classes in all of these activities for the local “Y”, through Edmonton “Health and Recreation”.

She entered Misericordia’s School of Nursing in 1954, graduating as a Registered Nurse in 1957. Marg continued in the surgical nursing area. She met and married Vern in 1958. She continued working until retiring to raise their family. She later resumed nursing in extended and senior care, part-time.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Canadian Martyrs Catholic Church (835 Northmount Drive N.W., Calgary, AB) on Friday, March 7, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. Reception to follow in the Parish Hall.
