Betty J. "Janie" King, 84 of Newbern, Tennessee, died on Friday, February 14, 2025, at the home of her sister in Dyersburg, Tennessee
Born Thursday, May 9, 1940, in Gibson County, Tennessee, she was the daughter of the late Johnny Walters and the late Lorene Stafford Walters. Janie was a beloved sister, mother, grandmother, and friend. She is leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and kindness that will forever be cherished by those who knew her.
Born into a family of eight children, Janie shared an unbreakable bond with her sisters and brother, built on friendship, laughter, and love. They walked through life together, creating cherished memories and always finding joy in each other’s company.
Janie had a deep appreciation for the beauty of the world around her. She found joy in gardening, dancing, and flowers—simple pleasures that brought her happiness and peace. Her love for nature was a reflection of her kind and nurturing spirit.
A devoted member of Center Church for over forty years, Janie lived her faith through her dedication to others. She worked for many years at All Wear Manufacturing before embarking on a new journey with her best friend, forming a cleaning business they proudly ran together for over two decades.
Above all, Janie treasured time with her family. She was especially close to her granddaughter, who was named in her honor, and their bond was one of deep love and joy. Janie’s presence brought warmth to every gathering, and her laughter filled every room. Her memory will continue to live in the lives she touched, the love shared among her family and in the memories of those who were fortunate enough to know her.
