SSGT. USA Retired Nathaniel Carroll was born March 17, 1955, in Clinton, North Carolina, the beloved son of the late Hosea Lee and Mattie Pearl Raynor Carroll. God called him home for eternal rest on Saturday, February 15, 2025, at his residence in Columbia, South Carolina.

Nathaniel attended the public schools of North Carolina. He joined the United States Army from which he retired in 1999, having achieved the rank of Staff Sergeant.

Nathaniel was as loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. Though he is no longer physically with us, his loving and kind spirit will forever live in the hearts and lives of all those who loved and knew him.

Those who will forever cherish fond and precious memories of Nathaniel are his loving wife of sixteen years, Brenda Williams; caring sons, Morrell Carroll, Kelvin Williams and Lenny Williams; loving daughters, Tanesha Chestnut and Mia Carroll; adoring grandsons, Raheem Browne and Raymel Chestnut; precious granddaughter, Atumn Rose Carroll; sweet great-granddaughter, Ramonna Browne; loving sisters, Vera Bullock and Patricia Bullock; a host of nephews, nieces, uncles, aunts, and other loving relatives and dear friends, all of whom will dearly miss him.
