Sarah left us on her favorite day of the year, Valentines Day. She was the epitome of love and kindness and it is how she spent her life.
She was predeceased by her grandparents Grace Adam (Lavallee), Roy Adam; Granny Josephine; Grandpa John Courchene; Grandfather Bob Norton; uncle Derek Fontaine; and special cousin Teresa Tootoosis.
She is survived by her four beautiful boys, Isaac and Jackson, with their father Evan (Shaina Craig), Mason and James and Wyatt and their father Logan Elliot; grandparents Ruth Norton and Faye Adam; parents Dean and Anna; siblings Gabrielle (Lindsay), Dean (Kierstin), Grace (Dustin); her many nieces, nephews, aunties and uncles. Lastly, she would be mad if we did not mention her frickin’ awesome cousins who all loved her dearly.
Sarah lived many places. She started out in Saskatoon where she was born. Then our family went off to so many places where she always left her influence, like Amaranth, Cross Lake, Pukatawagan, Winnipeg, and Regina.
Sarah obtained her bachelor’s degree and truly enjoyed university. She was a critical thinker. Her passion was life-long learning and decency to her fellow human beings and especially defending the rights of the 2SLGBQI+.
Sarah held a very strong passion for music. Wherever you found her she would have her earbuds in, always dancing. She adored her punk rock and metal, but she also had a love for 90’s music and in particular the Backstreet Boys. She was especially proud when her mom’s favorite, Jann Arden, followed her on Facebook.
Sarah enjoyed artistic activities such as dancing with her children and family. She was a social media queen. She absolutely loved making TikTok videos with her niece Emmie. She loved to sing and had a beautiful voice like her Kohkom, Grace Adam. Those of us who had the pleasure of Karaoke nights at Gio’s know how much she loved to sing and dance.
Sarah worked at Subway at one point and was the best sandwich artist! She developed a passion for cooking and was talented at making all kinds of food, with an endless menu of options for her family. She loved to share her delicious meals with all of her friends and family and we didn’t have to eat out because Sarah’s cooking was better than any restaurant.
Sarah had the biggest heart. She showered her loved ones, friends, and anyone lucky enough to be in her world with so much love and care, she would give you the shirt off her back. Sarah was the group mom, always looking out for others. But don’t kid yourself, if you were a bully or messed with her circle you would feel her wrath. She was a protector of those who wouldn’t or couldn’t fight for themselves.
Sarah struggled for over a decade with bulimia but she never faltered at being the best Mom and Auntie, never realizing her amazing abilities and true beauty. But we all did. As the rock and glue of our family, Sarah will be missed dearly.
In lieu of flowers, please do something kind for your fellow human beings.
Sarah’s Spiritual Journey of Love will take place at Speers Family Centre, 2333 Cornwall Street, Regina, SK, on Tuesday, February 18, 2025, at 2:00 p.m.
