Betty Lou Rucker (nee Knapp), age 92, of Wellington, passed away on Friday, February 14, 2025, at Keystone Pointe. On December 14, 1932, Betty was born in Elyria to the late Paul and Vivian (McDonald) Knapp. Betty grew up in Elyria and graduated from Elyria High School.
For 32 years, Betty worked as a Secretary for the Village of Wellington, retiring in 2014 at the age of 82. Betty was a member of the Penfield Church Choir for many years. She was an avid reader, and her talents included sewing, knitting and crocheting. Betty also enjoyed trips to watch horse races.
Left to treasure her memory as her children, Richard (Lesli), Linda Lewis, Gregory (Jeannie), and David (Libby); 9 grandchildren, Anthony (Victoria), James, Brittani (Stephen), Brooke, Angela (Chad), Matthew (Jeanine), Nicholas (Lauren), Whitney (Michael), Alycia (Peter); great grandchildren, Antonio (Brianna), Emilio (Kreig), Bella, Wyatt, Hunter, Boyd, Ryder, Mabel, Millie, Maeryn, and their father Chase, Mikayla, Taylor, Aria, Emery, and one on the way; niece, Barb (Marlon); nephew, Michael Tobias; great niece and nephew, Jennifer and Eric Bors; and her dear friend, Sandy Krausher. Betty was preceded in death by her parents, sister, Pauline Tobias; brother-in-law, Lee Tobias, and son-in-law, Dean Lewis.
