Mr. Thomas “Jack” Truett, 82, husband of Martha Norwood Truett, passed away Friday, February 14, 2025, at his home in Scranton.
Mr. Truett was born on November 4, 1942, in Darlington, son of the late Otis Truett and Avery Gainey Truett. He was a jack-of-all-trades, working in construction. Evenings were spent relaxing with Gunsmoke, his favorite western, a Pepsi in hand and a Payday close by. He loved traveling to the mountains, and never met a stranger. Above all, he enjoyed time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Surviving are his wife, Martha N. Truett of Scranton; children, Timmy James Truett of Scranton, Lisa Truett McKnight of Scranton, Steve Lynn Truett of Scranton, Sharon Denise Truett of Florence and Phyllis Elaine Truett of Camp Branch; twelve grandchildren; seventeen great grandchildren; brother, Larry (Becky) Truett of North Carolina; sister-in-law, Margie Ann Norwood of Scranton.
Mr. Truett was preceded in death by his son, Thomas “Jack” Truett, Jr.; siblings, Ruby Lee Teal, Dan Lee Truett, Ralph Truett and Jamie Truett.
