John R. Graham, age 91, of Madison, SD, died Friday, February 14, 2025, at Bethany Lutheran Home in Brandon. Graveside Memorial Service will be held 11:00 AM, Friday, April 18, 2025 at Graceland Cemetery, Madison, SD.

John was born to Vincent Albert and Grace Dorthea Graham on April 18, 1933 in White Lake, South Dakota. John graduated High School in 1950 in Salem, South Dakota. He attended University of South Dakota 1951-1952. He joined the US Army 1953-1954 as a helicopter mechanic and instructor. He returned to college in 1956 and graduated from Black Hills Teachers College with a bachelor's degree in education. John was employed as a sales representative, teacher, mechanic and worked on the family farm.

In 1959 John married Gloria Jubb in Casper, Wyoming. They had two children, a son, John Vincent (Jackie) Graham. His wife June, a daughter Jennifer Clark, married to Graham. John had three children Caitlin, Jamie and Steven, three grandchildren, and his sister, Patricia Hook of Wilton, Conn. He is also survived by his many nieces, nephews, great and great grand nieces and nephews. John and Gloria made their home in Calgary, Canada. They were married 11 years and divorced in 1970. John's family remembers him as a very kind man who enjoyed lifelong learning.

"He was silly and that smile was genuine. He was truly a Christian, studied the Bible and knew his scripture. He put it to work in his life."
