Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 15, 2025, at 11:00 A.M. in La Chapelle de Martin & Castille for Ruth Verret Mouton, age, 88, who passed away on February 14, 2025.

Interment will be held in Calvary Cemetery in Lafayette .

Reverend Howard Blessing will officiate at the services.  

Survivors include her two daughters, Tracie M. Hebert and her husband, Ray of Loreauville and Maxine M. Hebert and her husband, Brent of Lafayette;  four grandchildren, Jennifer Bell and her husband Steven, Randi Hebert Hernandez and her husband Jared Hernandez, Paul Hebert and his wife, Kelsey, and Bryce Branau; eight great grandchildren; her sister-in-law, Betty Mouton of Lafayette and her best friend, Lillie Gary.  

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Maxie Paul Mouton; one infant daughter, Maxine Mouton and her parents, Anthony “Tony” Verret and Eva Breaux Verret.

Ruth Verret Mouton was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who embraced life with warmth and joy. A proud graduate of Lafayette High School, she found happiness in the simple moments-whether enjoying lunch with her classmates, playing Pokeno, or making memories on her beloved casino trips. Her days were filled with laughter and companionship, especially during the many outings with her Pelican Pointe community, where she formed lasting friendships.

Ruth had a deep love for the outdoors, finding peace and joy in camping, particularly at the family’s cherished camp in Butte La Rose. Her kindness, vibrant spirit, and love for adventure will forever be remembered by those who knew and loved her. She leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and treasured moments that will continue to live on in the hearts of her family and friends.

Pallbearers will be Bryce Branau, Paul Hebert, Jared Hernandez, David Hebert, Steven Bell, and Landon Hebert.

A Rosary will be recited on Friday at 6:00 P.M. in Martin & Castille's (DOWNTOWN) Location.

The family requests that visitation be observed on Friday from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. and will continue on Saturday from 9:00 A.M. until time of services.
