David Bryon Grindstaff, a longtime resident of Hendersonville, North Carolina, passed away peacefully on February 14, 2025, at Mission Hospital, at the age of 71. Born on March 18, 1953, in Asheville, David spent his life dedicated to his work and family, leaving behind cherished memories for those who knew him.

David's career spanned several fields, showcasing his versatility and dedication. He worked diligently as a tree trimmer, carpenter, and plumber, earning respect and admiration for his hard work and craftsmanship. His commitment to his trade was matched only by his love for the great outdoors. A diehard outdoorsman, David found solace in nature and took great pleasure in sitting on his deck, watching the deer graze peacefully in his backyard.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Cloyed and Margaret Smith Grindstaff; his beloved wife of 28 years, Barbara Ann Kuykendall Grindstaff; and five siblings. David's passing leaves a void in the hearts of his surviving family, including his daughter, Rebecca Jean Grindstaff; his sister, Kathy Summey and husband Everette; his brothers, Roy Lee Grindstaff and Cloyed Grindstaff and his wife Judy; as well as numerous nieces and nephews who will miss him dearly.

In accordance with his family's wishes, private services will be held at a later date to honor David's memory and celebrate his life.

David Bryon Grindstaff will be fondly remembered for his unwavering work ethic, love of nature, and the quiet moments he cherished on his deck. His spirit lives on in the hearts of those who loved him.
