William F. Moyer, 84, of Landisburg, PA, passed away Friday, April 15, 2016 at the Claremont Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Carlisle. Born January 28, 1932 in Ridley Park, PA he was the son of the late Joseph L. and Anna E. (Miller) Moyer. He married his best friend and wife of 64 years, Helen M. (Shockey) Moyer, in 1952. William was a veteran that served in the United States Navy during the Korean War. Upon his Honorable Discharge he returned to the Philadelphia area where he was and accountant for the Gulf Refinery for more than 30 years. Following his retirement, he joined the Pagano Funeral Home Inc., Garnet Valley, PA, where he worked as a funeral associate for 30 years. William served on the Interboro School District Board of Directors from 1970-1976. His past memberships include the Free & Accepted Masons, both the Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts where he volunteered countless hours helping to form young men, and was a volunteer firefighter at the Darby Fire Company, Darby, PA. In addition to his wife, William is survived by two children, Sharon H. Moyer-Warwick of Swarthmore, PA and Richard R. Moyer, Sr. of Landisburg, his identical brother, Robert P. Moyer of Claymont, DE, nine grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. William was also preceded in death by two sons, William F. "Skip" Moyer, Jr and Robert J. Moyer, two sisters, Elizabeth Morris and Eleanor Anton, and one brother, Joseph Moyer, Jr. William's funeral service and burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
