WWII Army Veteran 1944-46. Paul Johnson went home to be with his Lord and Savior on September 21, 2015. Paul was a loving son, husband, father, Grandpa, Great Grandpa, uncle, and brother, and a man for whom faith was a source of hope eternal and family a source of joy. Paul was a 35 year 3M employee, teacher of fishing skills to grandchildren, family genealogist, and active volunteer during his working life and in retirement. He leaves a legacy of generosity, service, and humble faith: a sinner saved by grace. Paul was preceded by his parents, J. Ernest and Edith; brother, Eugene; sister, Margaret; and infant sons, Richard James and Philip Joel. Paul is survived by his loving wife of 67 years Elizabeth ("Betty"); daughters, Kathleen (Darrel) Johnson, Karin Jacobson, and Naomi Johnson (Russell Spilker); son, James (Linda) Johnson; eight grand-children; seven great-grandchildren; brother, J. Herbert (Joyce); and several nieces and nephews. Visitation beginning at 11:30 AM on Saturday, September 26, 2015 at FIRST LUTHERAN CHURCH, 4000 Linden Street (Highway 61 and County Road F), White Bear Lake. Memorial Service at 1:00 PM. Private family inurnment. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to First Lutheran Endowment Fund or donor’s choice.
