Funeral services for Richard L. Bonenberger age 78 of Wisner, NE will be held on Friday, September 25, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Wisner, NE. Burial will be at a later date. Visitation will be on Thursday from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with the family present at the Minnick Funeral Home in Wisner and will continue on Friday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service at the church. Richard passed away on Monday, September 21, 2015 at the Pender Community Hospital. Richard Lane Bonenberger was born on January 27, 1937 near Atkinson, NE to Peter and Freda (Johnson) Bonenberger. He was baptized and confirmed at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Atkinson, NE. Richard received his 8th grade education while attended rural school in Holt Co. At the age of 16 he moved to Wisner and began working at the Farmers Union filing station before going to work on the Howard Drake farm near Beemer. After some time he began working for area feedlots including, Louis Dinklage, Inc., and Herman Dinklage, Inc. for 25 years. Richard worked for Aglann Kluck near Richland, NE and when he returned to the Wisner area worked for Wisner Feedlot, Holland’s Feedlot and lastly for Feller and Co. at their Paradise Feeders location until he was forced to retire after suffering a heart attack. On September 7, 1958, he was married to Veleda Heermann at the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Wisner, NE. Richard enjoyed hunting, fishing and horses. Survivors include- Sons- Scott Bonenberger of Wisner, NE and family- Jena Bonenberger, Jackie and Justin Johnson and children Zian and Kyran Clay Bonenberger of Wisner, NE and family- Peter Bonenberger, Vanessa and Adam Petersen and son Lane Kendall Bonenberger of Wisner, NE Sisters- Dorothy Brau of Omaha, NE Mary Ann Albrecht of Atkinson, NE Brother- Ron Bonenberger of Omaha, NE Sisters-in-law- Karen Bonenberger of Omaha, NE Marge Bonenberger of Bassett, NE Richard was preceded in death by his parents, and brothers-Bernard, Pete, Roger, Larry, Gene and a brother in infancy.
