Klirking Byron Espinoza Obituary

Klirking Byron Espinoza, age 60, passed away on Sunday, November 18, 2018, at St. Paul’s House in Chicago. He was born in San Pedro Sula, Honduras on January 7, 1958 to Argentina Espinoza Navas. He obtained his bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from La Universidad de San Carlos de Guatemala. He obtained his master’s degree in education from Northern Illinois University. He was an adult educator at Casa Aztlan for 14 years, where he taught GED math and taught a civics class to help people obtain citizenship, even though he himself was at the time still undocumented. In 2000, he took the position of technology coordinator at Eerie Neighborhood House, where he would eventually become Technology Director. He loved to read (particularly science fiction), and was an avid technophile. He is survived by his wife, Myriam, and two sons, Byron and Jose. He dedicated his life to fighting for a better world, social justice, especially for the people of Guatemala.
