January 16, 1941 – February 9, 2025
Joseph Dvorak, known to his friends as Ed, was reunited with God on February 9, following a brief hospitalization.
In the early 1960’s, Ed, along with his wife Dolores and their young children moved from their native Chicago to a farm in rural Hubbard County. Ed was a young railroad worker at the time and saw this as an opportunity to pursue an interest in farming, while employed by the railroad. Ed commuted to work in Minneapolis while Dolores raised their three boys and handled day-to-day operations on the farm.
In 1974, to facilitate a turn in his railroad career, the family moved to Lisbon, ND.
Again in furtherance of his vocation, in 1978, Ed and his family moved back to Chicago-land. He finished his rail career there in 2003. Shortly thereafter, Ed and Dolores moved back to rural Hubbard County, completing a forty-plus-year Midwestern journey. Back in Minnesota, and no longer involved with the railroad, Ed busied himself with raising hogs and was regularly involved in community groups and activities.
Throughout his life, Ed pursued a variety of interests including auto racing, sailing, playing the guitar and reading.
Ed is survived by his beloved wife, Dolores; two sons, Edward and Robert; his brother, Alan; and many, many friends, who all feel his absence and will dearly miss him.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 AM on Friday, February 28, 2025 at Our Lady of the Pines Catholic Church in Nevis, MN. Visitation is for 1 hour prior to the service at the church.
Arrangements by the Cease Family Funeral Home of Park Rapids and Nevis, MN.
