Dennis Leland Bishop Jr. Great Falls, Montana Obituary

Dennis Leland Bishop Jr.

Dennis L. Bishop Jr., 66, of Great Falls, passed away Sunday, November 11, 2018 after fighting a long battle with Alzheimer’s disease. Dennis was born in Munich, Germany on April 27, 1952 to Dennis and Mary (Pfeile) Bishop. He was dearly loved by his family and all that knew him. In his final years you could often see him riding his bike around downtown Great Falls, picking up trash and visiting with the locals. Dennis attended St Ann’s Church for many years self-titling himself the bouncer and would collect the offerings. Dennis served the public as a drug and alcohol counselor for several decades. A lamp maker and repairer, if you were a friend of Dennis you have one of his lamps he made in your home. Alzheimer’s took many things from Dennis. The one thing it couldn’t take was love. Love is not a memory-it’s a feeling that resides in your heart and soul. Dennis is survived by his children, Denny Bishop, Molly Bishop, Andy (Tiffany) Bishop, Mary (Chris) Jernigan, and Sera (Ben) Jupka; grandchildren; Madison, Michael, Maggie, Jameson, Brynn, Sophia, Zachary, Jordan and Olivia; and his brother, Ron (Cindy) Bishop.

I knew Dennis back when we both attended the College of GF (Providence) in the late 80's. He was such a gentle and caring human being. He hoped the best for everyone. He is dearly missed by so many.
