Raymond Alfred Steinruck Jr. Obituary

Raymond Alfred Steinruck Jr., affectionately known as Ray, passed away on February 7, 2025, in Houston, Texas, after a valiant battle with cancer. Born on July 1, 1954, in San Marcos, Texas, Ray's life was a testament to his resilience and the joy he spread to those around him.

Ray was a beacon of strength and perseverance, having courageously lived as a cancer survivor for 25 years. His time in the Army instilled in him a sense of duty and honor, which he carried throughout his life. Ray's passion for the open road was evident in his long and dedicated career as a truck driver, wrecker driver, and long-haul driver. His love for driving trucks was more than just a profession; it was a reflection of his adventurous spirit and his kind heart.

Those who knew Ray will remember him as a man who was always happy and wore a constant smile. His loving nature extended to his family, whom he cherished deeply. Ray is predeceased by his parents, Rose (Steffen) and Raymond Alfred Steinruck Sr., and his siblings Doris Boggs John Steinruck, and Phyllis Shields. He leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories with his daughter Anne Salzman and her husband Brad, his adopted son Eric Beliles and his wife Jamie and their nine children, who brought immense joy to his life.

Ray's siblings, Catherine Holman, George Steinruck, Rodney Steinruck, and Charles Steinruck, will fondly remember their brother's unwavering support and kindness. His grandchildren, Kevin Keeter and his wife Mackenzie, Payton Salzman, Clayton Salzman, and Abigail Salzman, will miss their grandfather's infectious laughter and the wisdom he imparted. Ray will also be remembered by his loving girlfriend of 8 years, Judy Aldridge.

Ray's love extended beyond his immediate family to his nieces, nephews, and grandkids, all of whom he adored. His presence at family gatherings will be deeply missed, but the memories of his loving and adventurous spirit will live on in the hearts of those he touched.

A man of simple pleasures, Ray's approach to life was one of kindness and generosity. He was the embodiment of love, always ready to lend a helping hand or share a kind word. His adventurous soul led him to many places, but it was his journey through life and the love he shared that will be remembered most.

Ray’s journey on earth may have ended, but his story will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to know him. His legacy of love, kindness, and adventure will forever be etched in our hearts.

In honor of Ray's life and the joy he brought to so many, let us remember him not with sadness but with the warmth and affection he so freely gave. His spirit will continue to guide us, and his memory will always be a source of comfort and happiness.
