Cory Richard Cobler

<p>Cory Richard Cobler came into the world six weeks early on April 19, 1976 in Swift Current, Saskatchewan. He passed away December 10, 2015 at the age of 39 in Medicine Hat, Alberta where he lived his whole life. Cory leaves behind his Mom and Dad (Wendy &amp; Dwayne Cobler), sister (Jennifer Cobler), daughter (Shae-Lee Viola Jassman), son (Colton Ray Cobler), one grandson (Cooper), one niece (Gillian Ellery Cobler) and one nephew (William Michael Cobler-Thompson), as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Cory was predeceased by his four grandparents, his Aunt Darlene, Aunt Gwen and Uncle Eric.</p><p><br></p><p>Cory loved his home, loved his family with his whole heart and loved his dog Dodger. He had many passions in life and took pride in whatever he did, whether it was work, spending time with family or spending time with one of his many hobbies. </p><p><br></p><p>He started power skating at a young age and continued on to play hockey up until age of 17 playing in a midget league. He attended many camps and even went to some WHL hockey camps. He left hockey for a while, but the love of the sport brought him back in the last year. However, he found it difficult to skate once he lost his big toe on his left foot a few years ago. He participated in other sports in his younger years including baseball and soccer.</p><p><br></p><p>Cory did very well in school and in particular loved taking auto body classes. Cory considered taking auto body up as a livelihood but wasn’t able to fulfill that passion.</p><p><br></p><p>He took pride in vehicles, but his most prized car was his 88 Mustang GT. He was working on the mustang restoring it to its former glory. There is many memories in this silver machine.</p><p><br></p><p>Cory took pride in his work in the oil patch. He worked his way up from roughneck to driller and was proud of his work and how he was able to advance in the field. </p><p>He was passionate about his music, he loved heavy metal music and learned to play some of his favorite tunes on his many guitars.</p><p><br></p><p>He was passionate about Star Wars, Transformers and comic books. He collected paraphernalia for years and loved to admire and display his collections. </p><p><br></p><p>He loved fishing and loved going to Flotten Lake for the annual Cobler camping trip. He looked forward to the fishing competition with Aunt Bernice. He was also very excited about the upcoming Flotten trip in the summer of 2016. </p><p><br></p><p>Cory was very concerned and worried about the health of his family. His sister was on his mind constantly and he found it so hard to express how he felt. His children were always in his thoughts and heart. He was a man of few words and many thoughts. </p><p><br></p><p>Cory you were loved here on earth and we know you will be loved in heaven. Enjoy the reunion where you are going. We will miss you dearly here but we’ll tell you all about it when we see you again.</p><p><br></p><p>Donations in memory of Cory can be made to the Medicine Hat SPCA. </p><p><br></p>
